GreenFlow for Trucks

Fuel savings, time savings and better flow

Increasingly congested cities are leading to a strong need for solutions that contribute both to economic interests and quality of life. GreenFlow is a solution that helps lower CO2 emissions, reduce noise levels, achieve better traffic flow and improve safety by getting freight vehicles out of the city faster. Because the trucks start and stop less often, this creates a smooth flow that results in reduced fuel consumption and less stress on the vehicles, while drivers are able to drive more comfortably. The municipality saves on road maintenance due to reduced stress and wear on the asphalt.

By using GreenFlow for Trucks, you as a driver will (in many cases) get priority at traffic lights and a timely notification whether this is possible or not. This gives you more driving comfort and peace of mind. In addition, the transport company benefits from fuel savings, time savings and a reduction in the load (wear and tear) on the truck. At the same time, driving is cleaner due to reduced CO2 emissions and safety is improved.

GreenFlow for Trucks has several advantages. You get the right of way at intersections and need to stop less, or not at all, at traffic lights. This means you reach your destination faster, you need to refuel less and crossing intersections is much more pleasant. In addition, you are given an advisory speed when giving way is not possible. Quite handy and comfortable.

Every litre of fuel produces CO2 emissions. Particularly accelerating increases fuel consumption. That can be as much as 0.5 or 1 litre of diesel per stop. So every stop that can be avoided is directly profitable.

Als de app niet goed werkt, dan kunt u de volgende zaken controleren:

  • Check that the app is in the right mode. Go to the menu and choose Settings, General, Connection. It should say ''SDK'' here. Change it if necessary. Please note that after changing it may take some time before the app connects to GPS and Cloud again.

  • Check whether you are using the latest version of GreenFlow for Trucks. If not, you can update it via the Google Play store or ask your Fleet Manager if the latest version is installed. Please note! Removing and reinstalling (instead of updating) the app can lead to failure. Only do this in consultation with your administrator.

  • Check whether location data and 4/5G are switched on.

  • Check whether you have a connection to the Cloud:

If the red circled icons are white, you have a connection to GPS + the cloud service.

  • Still not sure if the app is working properly? Then restart your device.

Some companies use a route. This must be selected under Menu, Drive, Route. Enable this function. Now a route can be selected. After selecting the route, the app knows exactly at which intersection and direction priority should be requested.

Use the function: Turn memory. You can turn it on via: Menu, Driving, Turn Preview. Note: Make sure that Route Management is turned on first.

The Turn Preview function allows you to repeatedly request priority at different traffic lights on your route; the app remembers which turns (including straight through) you take and will start requesting priority for that direction when you approach the intersection again.

No. The app does not need to be operated on the road. Start the app before you hit the road. That way you will always be safe on the road.

Yes. The service works fully automatically once the app is launched. The user interface is not necessary but provides useful information to the driver.

From the App or on-board computer, GreenFlow for Trucks sends a message to the nearby intersection. The traffic control application determines whether a green light can actually be given. This takes some time because it is weighed up against all the other traffic approaching the intersection. The intersection sends back a message with an advisory speed and an indication if the truck can drive through green without stopping.

The data consumption depends partially on the number of smart traffic lights you pass. As a rule of thumb, you can expect to use around 200MB per month with an average App usage of 8 hours per day, and 5 days per week.

The app is (for now) only available on Android and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. It has proven to be the most widely used system on trucks or on smartphones.

The costs for using the GreenFlow app consist of a fixed amount of € 12.50 per truck per month, excl.
